CHAPTER INTRODUCTION

Community After Leaving Mormonism- CALM in Davis County is for those who have left, are in transition, or are questioning Mormonism.

Thousands resign from the LDS church every year, while many more no longer believe. We are also here for those who have never been LDS and would like to meet other non-believers.

Holiday Hoopla!

Posted by Chad (Swedeboy) Spjut on December 18, 2007

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to follow up on several things in order to let everyone know some of the plans for the upcoming holiday festivities.

Saturday the 22nd

This is our CALM Christmas party. That will kick off at 7:00 with dinner, drinks etc. Please bring a white elephant gift. I have had some folks RSVP, so if you plan on attending please let me know so that we can have enough food for everyone. Don’t forget, we will have fabulous egg-nog as well! For those who enjoy a good cigar, pipe, etc. the smoking room will be prepared.

Christmas Day

For those without plans for Christmas dinner or if Santa did not bring you what you wanted or if you just want to spend time with us, please know that you are welcome to come to our house to make yourself merry. We will have a traditional English Christmas dinner with roasted beef, roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, English Christmas Crackers etc. So if you would like to join us, please let me know so that we will have enough food and goodies for everyone. Dinner will be at 5:00, but come early if you like.

Friday the 28th

For those of you who like to sled, tube or watch others slip and slide join us at the Mt. Dell golf course in Parley’s Canyon at 6:00.  Bring your own sleds and tubes. If you would be interested in bringing any food, treats or drinks, please bring it along to share. We will have hot soup & hot chocolate, so bring whatever else suits your fancy.

New Years Eve

Bring your swimming suit (or not), cigars, champagne or other adult libations and get ready to party! Dinner will be at 7:00 with traditional Swedish Smörgåsbord fare. Please email or call us at 298-0318 for a food assignment. We will be renting a hot-tub, the smoking room will be prepared once more, games, dancing, kissing at midnight and perhaps throughout the night, who knows? Bring the kids as well. We have games and DVD’s galore for the little ones or bring your own to share, they should have a great time.  For those of you who would like to stay the night following a night of proper New Years partying, you are welcome. We have some extra bedding, but it would be a good idea to bring sleeping bags etc. of your own.  We will then have a nice New Years breakfast together. Waffles, bacon, sausage, orange juice, eggs, the whole works. We’ll start off the new year right!

We hope you can make a lot of great memories together with you during this special time of year. We love and admire you for who you are and consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have you in our lives.

Love to you all,

-Chad
