Lyndon Lamborn was born in Logan, Utah to pioneer-stock ancestors with polygamists on both sides of the family tree. Lyndon has five brothers and one sister. All six boys served foreign missions. Lyndon served in the Belgium Brussels mission from 1977-1979, and was a Cum Laude graduate of Utah State University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1982. He received a Masters of Sciences degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry Riddle in 1990. He was employed by Boeing for twenty-five years, and is also a part-time professor of mathematics at Mesa Community college, Mesa AZ. His former callings in the LDS church included Elders Quorum President four times, a ward membership clerk, Stake Missionary, serving in a Stake Mission Presidency, and Scout Master for six years. He enjoys hiking, backpacking, off-road motorcycle riding, running, and has competed in seven marathons. Lyndon was excommunicated from the Mormon Church in August, 2007. He had been asking questions, researching the history of the Mormon church, sharing his findings with church members, and felt that he could no longer remain a church member due to the church’s deceitfully one-sided presentation of the facts to church members.
Robert D. McCue is a tax lawyer in Calgary. Mr. McCue received his BA and LLB (with distinction) as well as an MBA, from the University of Alberta. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 1986, and the Alberta bar in 1993. Mr. McCue is a member of the International Fiscal Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association and the Calgary Bar Association. His Mormon ancestors helped settle southern Alberta. He had a great-grandmother who was the fourth polygamous wife of a William Paxman, a high-ranking church leader in Utah. Although he was rich, she died in poverty after her husband’s death, because his first wife refused to share his estate. Mr. McCue served as bishop for a local ward for five years. He became distressed after a study of Mormon history and left the Mormon Church by officially resigning at the end of 2002.
The evening conference will take place at the University of Alberta’s Engineering Learning Technology Center in lecture theatre room E1-007. The location is 116th Street and 92nd Avenue in Edmonton. The session will start at 6:00pm.
