Happy Anniversary To Me

Today marks the one year anniversary since my signing up as a member at postmormon.org.

I had been outside the church for nearly 25 years and really had no interest  in a 'mormon' site. Then came prop 8 and i was surfing the web about that topic when i found this site. I really had no intention of being involved here but found the social commentary interesting.

Then I started meeting some of you via your posts and even some of you in person.

I have talked with some of you on the phone and through email too. I often think that my posts and comments are usually of no interest to  ost of you but some of you seem to like my sarcasm.

I have enjoyed meeting post os in the Las Vegas area and have enjoyed our dinners, parties and get togethers. I've even had the chance to coordinate a party for out of town guests. I mean, Las Vegas is a great tourist destination.

So - here it is one year later. I would have never thought I'd have found this site and all of you to be so interesting. Thanks for the enjoyable experience and here's to another even more exciting year.

Congrats Wes. I went to our Unitarian Church today but didn't see you there. It feels good to be done with the church doesn't it? Except sometimes the nasty chain rattling ghosts of Christian past haunt my nightmares and I have to run out hollering, "Bob Bless us, Everyone!". I don't know who Bob is, but if he's giving blessings I want some. For those who haven't been to a Vegas style exmo gathering, please let Wes know when you'll be in town so he can get you the right outfit. We do have some good times. I'm so glad I got to know a few of you in REAL LIFE. We really are NOT ALONE.

CONGRATS Wes. I used to visit LV frequently while going back and forth to Mecca. Not so much anymore, but I'll definitely try to make contact next time I travel through town.

Congrats Wesman!  I really enjoy your input and perspective here.  If you ever escape the summer heat and head to P-town, be sure and let me know.

P-Town, as in Provincetown Mass?  I was just there in October going to the Unitarian Church for a most faboulous Gay Wedding of one of my dearest friends. We had a lovely time and I got some great photos between the rainstorms.

If I'd known I'd have scheduled lunch with you. Dang it all to heck. Maybe next time. If anyone is getting gay married, invite me because I make fabulous gifts.

The one and only.  I don't live there, but near enough to make lunch.  Dang, we'll have to find Wesman a fiancé to bring here and have postmo bash.

Congrats.

I lived in the Red Rock Stake from about 91-95.  CMHS '95.

At the time, it was the fastest growing stake in the nation.  We had about a split a year.

I started out in Rainbow Vista ward.  From there I went to Summerlin and then Hillpoint.  If I still lived in the same area again I would be back in Rainbow Vista.

I often wonder if any of my old vegas friends are exmo too.

I've loved getting to know you!

"Feliz Cumpleanos," That's how they say it in Spain.

"Frohlicher Geburtstag," In German it means the same.

"Gratulerer med magen," Norwegians say it too.

But anyway you say it, It means "Happy Birthday to you!"

They say in Samoa, "Manuia lou aso fanau."

"Tanjobi omedeto," The Japanese say, and bow.

"Sangilulchíukhahamnida," Koreans say it too.

But anyway you say it, It means "Happy Birthday to you!"

How about a song that lists all the different ways to say "I'm outta here!"  ?

Happy Anniversary Wes.

I'm so glad you were here before me.

You were one of the first to befriend me on postmo.

I've enjoyed getting to know you.

Here's to another year!

Oh, I was trying to play on the Primary version of the "happy birthday" song. Sorry if my humor was missed. (I have primary-age kids so I hear this stuff.)

Well, let's say that I was in fact doing it for your birthday then. After all, we're former Mormons -- we know all about changing the story to fit our needs!
