Anyone else around here in NW Ohio/SE Michigan?
Did you mean, is anybody still defrosting their extremities, from that frigid, coffee freezing and near record breaking Alberta clipper, that passed through yesterday, right?

The one that closed the schools for the second day in a row? Yup, that'd be the one.

Maybe it's almost time to try and skip the cabin fever, and maybe join some others near or around Ann Arbor by perhaps creatively searching or posting community group ads, on either craigslist or one of the other MeetUp Group venues, eh?

Any Hawaii chapter yet? I'm willing to get one going!!!
Each chapter leader is different but I don't think you need a group of postmos to start a chapter. Juneau has three postmormons in the chapter and only one of them posts on the forum. I became a chapter leader with the idea that if you start the chapter and people will come, or not. This chapter is a local contact point for postmormons. I have had several emails from people as a chapter leader. So far they have been from people that used to live here and liked that there is a chapter here now.
Hawaii has a lot more Mormons than Juneau. I think if you start a chapter, you will likely get responders.
Thanks for the insight Hiker-D... my initial excitement over starting a chapter here is to connect with other ex-mormons in Hawaii that are open and like-minded as the wonderful people that post here. Its been such a positive experience for me to read everyone's stories and points of views, it would be great to meet anyone locally face to face. I'm stoked over the possibilities!
Aloha Mother Earth. I just saw this thread. Didn't know you were also from Hawaii. I sent you a personal message. Seems its time for Hawaii to get out there. I started a Big Island Chapter as part of Bear's new year goals. It would be great if we could talk. What island are you on?

Are there any chapters in the Boise Idaho Region?
Apparently the LADIES of Boise Postmormon got together just last weekend. There are Postmos starting to get together. Check the chapter listings under the "Our Community" heading at the top of this page.
Hello all.. Im brand new here, and brand new to the postmormon life.... I would love to find a chapter in nor cal! Im close to santa rosa in the norht bay... anyone know of anything around here?
All I know is once I truly, officially become Post-Mo (ie:resignation letter sent) I get dibs on creating the Wyo-Braska-Kota Chapter for Eastern Wyoming, Nebraska Panhandle, and South Western Dakota...
Until we expand to the point that easch state needs their own as we march on to take over the world!!! Bwahahahahahahahhahahaahahahahha!!!!!!!!!!
*ack* *cough* *ahem*
Ok serioulsy. I want dibs on that. As soon as I stop playing the undercover Mo'brutha, it'll happen.
Is there a chapter for Chicago or the Burbs?! I sent an email to the Chicago chapter saying I would like to assist for those in my area but havent gotten a reply. I left about 5 years ago, resigned about 3 years ago with my DH. I would have loved postmormon back in the day I was out and my DH was in.
I basically already have a group of postmo's going in my town. Living near a University makes it nice to find the critical thinkings who decide to exit. PLMK if there are more in my area!

Why is it Boise always seems to get skipped for stuff like thisWe need help too!
Boise did have a Post-Mo group that formed rapidly about a year ago and was just getting acquainted when the economy crashed. At the end of this last summer the active members left the area and I have not heard any more of a Boise Chapter.
The Boise Chapter faded real quick at summer's end, however that doesn't mean we all left the city
I'm still in Boise and while I'm not the most socially outgoing type, if there's interest out there I'd love to see new life in the Boise Chapter.

I'm in Meridian and would LOVE to participate in a chapter meeting/get-together!
and am considering sending out the following postcard to a couple of hundred people off old ward and stake rosters.
I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have on this.
Central Nebraska Post-Mormon Chapter
PostMormon.org is an online community for the purpose of providing moral support, fellowship and socialization directed toward sustaining individuals and families who have left, are considering leaving or are questioning the beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
There are local chapters throughout the country that meet in person for these same support, fellowship and social purposes, and I am looking to form a chapter in Central Nebraska.
If you are someone who might benefit from such a group, I would love to hear from you, or, if you know of someone who might be interested, I would very much appreciate if you would pass this card along to them.
If interested, please contact me:

Does anyone have information on a San Diego meet up?
I have emailed the group contact a month or two ago, however, to my knowledge no meetings have been set up. Just curious if anyone in this area would be interested in getting together, even "unofficially."
I had the same experience. No reply. I'm in San Diego and would love to meet up with any other post-mo's.
I am starting a California LA/Ventura County Chapter. Please let me know if you know of anyone in the area. Our first get together will be the showing of 8: the Mormon Proposition on June 18.
I'm a Boise Post-Mo of about four years now.
My life is finally settled down enough that I feel like I'd like to be
part of a Boise Post-Mo group, but it looks like there's nobody here to
head one up right now? Maybe I missed something, though. Anyway, if
there is an interest, I'd be willing to be the guy to do some organizing
and get something put together. There is a real need for it here.
Any interest? Or info on a group already operating that I might just not know about?

Hello everyone. I am wondering what kind of chapter there might be in Northern California. I am going to be moving there this June or July because I just accepted a job in Fairfield. Is there a chapter that serves that area? If not, is there anyone else from that area that is interested in starting a chapter there?

Ahaahahahaha, I served as a district leader in Scottsbluff when I was a missionary, and I would have been glad to help you out then. Maybe when the Wyo-Braska-Kota Chapter gets started I will come down and be a guest lecturer. We could hold it in Yoter Wyoming. Terrytown Nebraska would be my second choice.
Tessa:
Can the Davis County group meet somewhere further south once in awhile, like in Bountiful? Layton and Ogden are getting prohibative to get to...(gas prices....and slow-downs for freeway fixes.)
Tessa, I am looking for information on the Davis County group... am going to email Jeff Ricks, too. Thanks
Can someone tell me how to become the leader of a chapter that seems to exist for Reno, NV? I followed the link to the chapter page and it says to contact <name>@, but there is no email address. I would like to get the chapter going here, how can I do that?

I suggest that you contact nomoremolly (the current Reno chapter leader) with a PM to express your interest and get an update on the their current interest/status.
DH (Rhodes) and I are in Houston. As far as we can tell the chapter here is inactive. We've emailed the chapter leader but gotten no response. We've been able to get in touch with a couple of local ex-mo's. Anymore Houstonites out there wanting to get together??

Any interest in a chapter for the Dallas/Fort Worth or North Texas area? I was surprised to see there isn't one already.
Second that. I'm in Richardson but have a friend in Denton that might be interested in being a part of a chapter here.
I think there's an inactive chapter. IDK. I'd be down for getting together, schedule permitting.
I didn't see anything for DFW on the chapter map... do you know who a leader might be? Iwould consider starting one, but DH and I are planning to move to CA at the end of the year...
Hello Pacific Northwest Post-Mormons! We have recently started a new chapter to serve the Spokane, WA and Coeur d' Alene, ID and vicinity. We are obviously a fledgling group still but if you are interested in getting on the mailing list, either follow the link below or check out our chapter home page which contains some introductory information, blog entries and an email link as well.
We understand that most of us are interested in preserving some anonymity, so you are free to share as much with us as you feel comfortable with. Our intention is to create a local support network, share information and periodically get together in person for those who are ready to "network" face-to-face with those of similar backgrounds and experiences. Anyone is welcome as long as the core values of this site are adhered to and honored. Respect is paramount and everything is optional!
Any chapters in Georgia? I don't see one on the map. If not, I'm willing to head one up. Desperately seeking some empathetic friends as we are on the road to resignation.
Thanks!
Melanie
