His unflinching acceptance of our reality remain a true inspiration to me. For those of you who may not be familiar with his eloquence and perspective, I invite you to give him a listen.

I too miss him.  I really enjoyed his books God Is Not Great and Hitch-22 especially Hitch-22.  His so called "Hitchslap" in his debates was and still is great.  Though I don't agree with everything he said I do agree with most of it.  I would have loved to have sat down and had a chat with him.

One of my all time favorites....I read two of his books over christmas and gave one to my tbm dad...it will be interesting to see what he thought of Hitch.  I wish I had been able to see one of his debates in person.  At least we have youtube...Hitchslaps are the best.

Let us not forger Christopher Hitchens Day April 14. Raise a glass of Johnny Walker Black, and smoke a premiun cigar (or cigarette), to celebrate the life of great mind.

I've been thinking about how he handled his illness, having been faced with my own. His response to the rumors that he he had become a Christian makes ne smile.

This makes me think of his brother Peter, though a Christian, he defended Christopher's right to his beliefs and condemned the notion of a death-bed conversion.  I admire him for that.  I'm not a fan of Peter Hitchens but at least he stood up for his brother.  He wrote a great article after Christopher's death.
