Post-Mo on Channel 5 TV News in Phoenix

Channel 5 TV News in Phoenix ran a short news story about our billboard in Gilbert, and about the Post-Mormon Community.

Lyndon Lamborn, a former Mormon in the area was interviewed and a few of his statements were included in the story, along with a couple of residents of the Gilbert area. Below is video of the news story.

I love how they included the first bystander’s comment, “Oh my God!”.

I actually just found out about this website this last weekend when a story on the billboard aired on another news channel. So far, I am very impressed with the site, and grateful for the support it has provided me, just in knowing I’m not alone.

It’s interesting how the (presumed) mormon refers to the billboard as “discriminating against [mormons]”. This victim mentality is typical of how mormons automatically refer to inconvenient truths (TRUTHs) about their history as “anti-mormon”. The real victims are those for whom the billboard is intended. (and if Nancy is not a mormon, I apologize.)

It amazes me that anyone would see such a billboard as anti anything!  It is just about as innocuous as you can be while still getting the message out there to those who need support.

Funny how the bars and Budweiser don’t try to cry persecution over AA billboards.

Nancy Rogen strikes me as just a clueless bystander who was willing to be interviewed on air.  I doubt they could get a bishop or a SP to comment on it.

On the channel 12 episode I saw, someone from the church did comment, but they didn’t say what his calling was.

I think the guy is either a stake president or a regional rep. I know for a fact that he’s a prominent businessman in the area, which usually translates into a high Church calling of some kind. wink

Where does this quote about the threats to the church being gays, intellectuals etc come from? I would love to know!

The statement should be, “gays, intellectuals and feminists.” Below is a link to a talk by Boyd Packer. It’s from that talk that the statement is derived.

Thanks Jeff! Love that quote….

heathens

As far as “gays, Intellectuals, and Feminists” being a threat to the church really says something.  Heaven forbid someone is born differently, thinks about and questions what is being taught to him/herself and his/her children, and demand equal rights for women. You have to follow blindly, don’t ask questions, and be content with your traditional role as a woman. I’ll never be comfortable with that.
