I just wanted to say, I thouroughly enjoyed meeting many of you Saturday afternoon.
Being able to place faces to some of the names was really a fun experience.
Great food. Great conversation. Awesome friends. What more could be asked of life?

It was wonderful to finally meet some of you and I wanted to let you all know about the quality of the people posting here. This Dark Slider character is a joy. So is Keene the Maverick. Intelligent, capable young wippersnappers. Wonderful to meet you.

Wish we could have been there. We are too far away. It sure would have been nice. We live too far away. Maybe as this community grows there will be groups meeting out this way.

I had a fabulous time! Except, for the absence of Silverfox. We missed you! I think everyone asked, "Silverfox was gonna show up, wasn't she?" "Where's Silverfox?" "I hope she's coming." :-(
But in any case, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a joy meeting and talking to Darkslider and Keene, and being able to spend more time with Bigeddy and Jeff.
I think it was a wonderful success. We should do this more often.

Absolutely! We want to get groups set up across the world and as far out as that sounds I'm sure it will happen. Last week I got an email from a man in England and a woman in France who want to start groups there. There are a number from Canada and other places who want to start groups in their areas. I need to revamp the Support Groups section of the site to accomodate the need better. Recently "small one" and a local friend who doesn't like computers and so doesn't participate online have committed to manage the support group network. Now that the medical detour is behind me we can get moving again and make it all happen!

BTW, last week I got a call from my doc after a six week followup bloodtest and was told that I'm clean! Absolutely no cancer left behind. In his words, "You're cured buddy!" :D

It was definitely my loss to not have been able to be there.
We definitely should have gatherings more often. I wanted to have a big summer Post Mo bash and things have just gotten too hectic in my life....ARGH!

Jeff, do you happen to know if the Seattle group linked to from this site is the same one NPR was talking about?

No, I haven't heard that there is any former Mormon group mentioned on NPR. Tell us more!!

The first audio clip was recorded at a Seattle ex-mo potluck with 40 attendees.
The ex-mo potluck I attended recently only had about 12, so I'd wondered if there were multiple groups here.

Sorry I could not attend. However, in the future I will try to book time off to drive down and put faces to all your names. It would be great to meet you fine folks in person.

Thanks free thinker, and thanks for all you who showed up for the luncheon! I enjoyed meeting you!
The cool thing about planning a post-mormon luncheon like that is all the planner has to do is reserve a room. It seems that when you put former Mormons in the same room everyone instantly becomes friends and has a great time. :D I don't exactly know why that is but I've seen it happen over and over again.

I wish I lived in Utah so I could have shook jeff's hand at the luncheon and flirted  with dancinfree (I know that aether was there but...).
And I know that Jeff is dying to meet me someday.
I feel like jeff and I are good buddies who can enjoy a 7 up together at a strip joint. :D But seriously I wish I could have met the people who were there. Oh well...that's life. I think that it is great that people had the opportunity to meet eachother. :)
