Hi dudes!! It is an absolutely gorgeous day in Phoenix AZ today. Hope you are having a great day!
In some threads the last couple of days I have noticed some level of respect for " The Bretheren" . So I have decided to send them a little message which you can share with me if you like.
Dear Bretheren
I just want you to know that I do not respect you. I do not think you are servants of God. I do not accept that you have any authority beyond what the mormon church gives you. I think most of you know the history of the church is a disaster, but for whatever reason you want to propogate it as is. I dont give a damn what you think about anything. That includes you Gordon.
Now here is what I would like from you " Bretheren".
When I bend over and bare it, would you mind kissing my lily white buttocks?

Free THinker this so reminds me of what one of our popstars did to Michael Jackson at some British Awards Ceremony. IN the middle of the earth song (which has Michael kind of acting messianically) he got up and mooned him.
It's a way of saying, listen all this adulation is a bit off.
You are just human, you sit on a toilet like the rest of us.
Mary :D

Free Thinker, I'm aghast! Just when you had me thinking you were a Peace at any Price kinda guy! Gosh, what harm did these folks ever do to you?
Well wait a minute. Don't bother to answer that. I don't think I have the time or energy to read a reply to that one! Maybe you could just answer in installments over the next several months.
But, I do admit to a degree of curiosity over what provoked this outburst. I look to you as a role model; a relatively rational guy in an insane world. If I can't look to you as a model of reasonableness, where am I to go?

How's the beer today free thinker? Hehe
I am not sure what purpose your letter would serve if you actually sent it. I am sure some low level underlying would place in in the round file cabinet after reading the first few lines.

Is this a serious post? If yes......
There are a lot of threads and posts by many Post Mo members regarding the damage the church has done.
Also regarinding bitterness and anger and the phases/stages of Post Mo'ism.
If you are just being funny, then disregard. :D

I knew when I wrote it that it may seem a bit out of character and inflamatory, but I just felt like it had to be said. I just simply cannot abide respect offered to men who know they are propagating a falsehood.
Some time ago you mentioned a certain lightness that had come into your life as you have distanced yourself from mormonism. I have also. I will defend my new found freedom, and peace of mind with all my faculties. I want others to experience it also.
The beginning of that for me was to emotionally tear these men down off their ecclesiastical thrones, because they seem to think they speak for god. Now I want to keep them off the throne in my mind and heart, and the occasional outburst helps in that regard.
It is that simple. Thanks for enduring my rant!

I wonder if the apostles and GAs are really as knowledgable about the history of the church as we think they are. I recall Steve Benson's conversation with Oaks and Maxwell? and Oaks said Maxwell was not aware of the Kinderhook story! It could be that these men are so insulated from reality that they are not aware of all the problems that the members are grappling with. If you were an assistant to the prophet would you be bothering them with every little doctrinal issue or historical discrepency that cropped up?
The brethren fund FARMS researchers to deal with the messy stuff. They are content to be business executives who manage the temporal affairs of the church and give faith promoting talks, that are written with the help of secretaries, about uncontroversial topics. They are probably too busy with the day to day operations of the church to stop and delve into the issues many of us have wrestled with. They accept the church on faith and do not dig any deeper.

Sorry, Sf., even people that I've been around for years often don't get my brand of lame humor about 2/3rds of the time. I was just trying to be funny!
Guess everybody can see now why I never had a girl friend in HS and had to get a mail order bride from the Philippines to create a half-way stable marriage!
