Please accept my condolences. :( ;)

Actually I wish the current administration was MORE Republican with respect to fiscal conservatism. :duh

Please accept my condolences.

I appreciate your sentiment. It is difficult to be a republican these days.

Me too. Unfortunately there will be a price paid at the polls next year in the mid terms. Let this be a lesson to conservatives in the future.

Hey ya jerks! I'm dying for your sins here! The least you could do is put a bumper sticker on your car!

We certainly have alot of republicans on this board. It is so wonderful to have such compassionate people who believe in the free market. And you guys took the one thing from mormonism that I least respected: american republicanism.

Oh well, at least I have comrade helemon to console with! Ain't that right comrade? :)

I guess we have no socialists on this board....?

I don't know so much about American Politics...If it's anything like the UK, the left have gone so far right, and the right have gone so far left, that everyone has just ended up in the middle....

Please make sure not to confuse us libertarians with Republicans. Just because you believe in the free market does not make you conservative. :)

I hate GB just as much as everyone else. :)

Also whyme, you did notice that the link Helemon pasted was making fun of Repubs, right?

I'm a social democrat--does that count?

Yea, that counts. Are you a member of the Democratic Socialists of America? That would count.

I consider a good socialist someone who puts action on the top of the list for constructive human centered non-capitalist change in our society. But yes, I can call you comrade! :)

Helemon is a good comrade. I consider him to be a progressive American which is just a little farther left than a liberal.

I know that liberatarians are against big government and the republicans can be also guitly of creating big government. And so I knew that you would vote libertarian over a republican!

Socialists believe in the primacy of ideas. Capitalists believe in the primacy of stuff (as in, material goods). This is why conservatives hate, nay loath, the "intellectual class."

Socialists work to improve the public good. Capitalists care only for the individual. That's why our earth, and our social capital, will gradually deteriorate until it can no longer support us, as long as capitalists are in power.

Socialism takes the difficult high road, which is why it is so hard to make it work in practice. And because communism (a corrupted form of socialism) has failed, capitalists get to gloat in their mean-spiritedness. But what capitalists fail to recognize is that their system is also corrupt, and is failing them too.

But we are all in such a trance, we don't notice. Yet another victory for capitalist mind-control, if you can call it a victory.

(That's all I have time for today, but I hope I pushed a few buttons!)

Comrade Why_me :) - I am not a socialist, but I do admire some of the goals and ideals of socialism.

Mary, it seems to me that we in the US have just the opposite problem. The left have gone very left and the right have gone... well, insane. There seldom seems to be any middle ground any more.

"Republicans drive by as your car is broken down on the side of the road and offer no help.

Democrats try to help, set your car on fire and then leave, thinking they have been a big help."

Jay Leno

Good choices eh?
