Whilst I was still a faithful TBM, I found a lot of solace in the dark music and lyrics of the band Placebo. My Church forbade me to live a life of pleasure, so I relegated all these evil things to the realm of night. That which was black became also pleasure, and my thrill at listening to a band like Placebo, who seemed to so thouroughly to have tapped into this vien of darkest bliss, became surrogate for an existance of real freedom. I rebelled safely by delving into sordid music. It kept me from going much, much further.

I never really paid attention to the lyrics of this particular song until long after I left. Maybe I should have....

A life of this kind of polishing is very difficult. There have to be cracks somewhere. It is only human. And this is discouraged in tscc.
