The LDS.org's glossary defines the word convert as:

(noun) A person who has chosen to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by being baptized and confirmed...

...As opposed to one that didn't choose because they were too young to make such a decision and their entire family and group of friends were pressuring them to do it, and the CTR teacher gave them a shiney new ring and told them how wonderful it would feel?

...

Hey, they said it, not me. :) I just added what it implies.

I was a convert.

I wonder what their definition for "ex mormon" is? Whatever it is, I bet it has horns. :D

"Choose". "Choice", "Chosen"!

Wow! Now those are three words that I really have gotten hung up on over the last three months.

Perhaps we should coin a new term, maybe "unconvert"; one who has chosen to unjoin the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints by requesting their name be removed from the records of that church.

It would probably have horns on it too, though. Back to work.
