Since I remain a follower of Christ, may I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and Happy New Year?
Whatever your religious persuasion; I hope you are having a very good day with those you love. I pray for a world where everyone can live in harmony and peace and live their lives without persecution for what they believe.

Harry

Though I no longer consider myself a Christian follower, necessarily, I do thank you for your comments and wish you (and anyone else here) a very Merry Christmas, too!

Merry Christmas Hamar and Happy Holidays to everyone also.
This is the first year in my life as a non-Christian during Christmas. A couple of times I almost caught myself singing " Away in a manger" . I got all caught up in it and found my self thinking about the " Baby Joseph" er a , I mean Baby Jesus". Wow, a post-mormon slip.

...and all through the House
Old Peter_Mary was scurrying
to Hide from all the housework Mrs. Peter_Mary wanted him to get done!
So I missed this yesterday, but as a consumer of eggnog, I found Christmas to be quite enjoyable again this year.
Hope everyone else had a fabulous day with friends, family, or meditating for word peace while precariously balanced on a rock. You know, whatever!

I also hope everyone had a Merry Christmas as well, regardless of your religious persuasion. I actually find that I appreciate Christmas more now than I ever did before, even though I no longer consider myself a Christian. The time with family is brilliant, especially watching old home movies with your brothers and laughing through every minute of it :D
And a Happy Boxing Day to everyone as well. Although mine was ruined, since my beloved Magpies lost to the Reds (British football) . Boxing day should be an observed holiday here in the States...

Hello everyone...I am being an imposter today...for I am NOT aether but I am disguising myself as her mother..dancinfree, due to lack of computers in the household.
I just have to comment that this Christmas was my first Christmas that I do not feel in any way a Christian. It was so wonderful to just feel and accept what I am feeling. I realize that I embrace so many perspectives but to emotionally let this one go without guilt has been exceptional. I have to say that Christmas eve was so enjoyable this year in thee ole house. Instead of the usual Christmas story and forced prayer time...I just was able to enjoy the lights...drink some hot chocolate with the fam...express my gratitude for each one of my beautiful children and hubby.
I must confess that we did read the scripture story but this year, my hubby's wonderful humor was mixed in without too much blasphemy and lots of giggles with the corresponding watching of Monty Python's, "Life of Brian". Which my children had never seen. I have to say that discussing and expressing my true personal feelings on the matter of Christmas with my family has been one of great joy and increased authenticity. My children's faith and views are respected as are my own and I couldn't ask for anything more. I realize that my journey and my family's are not for everyone but it's beautiful to see it working for us.
So in the immortal words of tiny tim..."God bless us, everyone."..or Not..whatever works for you..hehehe.

Hey! that sounds like a fantastic tradition! Read the nativity story, but do it comically.
I've always wanted to have a movie night where I invite friends and we watch The Passion and Life of Brian back to back :D
I'm thinking next year of starting a new tradition where I invite all my Seattle friends who don't have family living nearby. Have them over Christmas eve to sleep over. Have a $10 gift exchange. Hang out, watch movies, play games, be Christmasy together.
It makes things weird because then I can't drive over the mountains to see my family... but... I'm not so sure I enjoy that anyway...
