Quote of the day
If you cling to an idea as the inalterable truth, then when the truth does come in person and knock at your door, you will not be able to open the door and accept it.

you will be inclined to kill the messenger. Thereby providing further protection from the uncomfortability of having to face it again in the future. And providing more proof to you and yours that god is on your side. After all he allowed you to vanquish your heretical enemies.

Reminds me of Martin Luther:

So tenaciously should we cling to the world revealed by the Gospel, that were I to see all the Angels of Heaven coming down to tell me something different, not only would I not be tempted to doubt a single syllable, but I would shut my eyes and stop my ears for they would not deserve to be either seen or heard.' (Luther - Table Talk,Number 1687)

Brilliant Helemon,

I really love that one which ties in with dogma being the death of true spirituality..

Good one. I love it. Thanks.

Sounds like a form of idolatory, doesn't it?
