Southern Utah Post Mormon Association to meet May 7th, 2 P.M. in St. George.

The meeting will be in the St. George Holiday Inn.

The May lecture series will be an interview with representatives of the major religions of the world. Each will explain what heaven is like, and what we need to do to get there!

After the May meeting our Post Mormon support group will take a break for the summer months and then start back up in the fall.

My sister just sent me a copy of Winwood's "Be not Deceived" after reading half of it, I decided I better not read any more or I would be violating his (Winwood's) counsel. He makes a good attempt to sugar coat all the weak points of the religion. To his credit, he does a good enough job of reassuring the troubled TBMs that one with intellect superior to theirs has studied the problems and their attention to the available information is not necessary. He makes no secret that the TBMs are his real target audience.

Our Post Mormon lecture series ended for a summer break with a very enjoyable presentation. In listening to the various religions present what heaven is like and what we need to get there, one see’s how much intolerance there is in the world and how religion in general needs to be brought into the 21st Century. The presentation did a good job in presenting the difference between radical fundamentalist Islam and mainstream Islam and how they are in conflict. I get a lot of emails from my Christian friends condemning Islam in general, viewing it in light of radical Islam. My extended Muslim family accepts me as a non believer as I do accept them for the good people they are. It was brought out that Catholics do not believe there will be sex in their heaven and the radical Muslims believe even the female suicide bombers will receive their 72 virgins. With sex being a good “carrot stick” I guess the faithful Mormon men have everyone beat using their polygamous wives to populate all their worlds.
We are having a lot of new people show up, even never mo’s trying to deal with life in dogmatic Utah and the Mormons trying to convert them. It was really fun to visit with everyone. My TBM wife seems to really enjoy some of our meetings as opposed to the repetitive pabulum she often hears in church every Sunday.
