My first visit to Salt Lake and my initial impression was, "maybe a nice place to retire." Then I read the paper.
A state budget surplus of a billion dollars, but you won't spend $5 million to give the poorest among you vision or dental care - a policy sure to cost more in the long run than $5 million. Last in the nation in school funding, I guess children and their education are not important.
I guess I'll take a last look around. Not much chance I'd bring my family here.
