A poster on RfM pointed out that Grant taught in the churches NZ schools during the 60's. Now the church is closing the LDS highschool there. Could Grants book be having a larger impact on membership in NZ because he spent so much of his career teaching them the gospel? What do you think Puff?

http://www.sltrib.com/ci_4060944i would very much doubt that grant palmers book made much difference here as half of them can,t read anyway , more likely lots of members having a better time at puffs party , or someone elses party anyway

Half of them? You mean the Maoris? But I thought the church said the reason they were closing was because there were good schools in the area so they were no longer needed?:duh

Reports I read quoting the other local schools saying they are mortified by the closures, that they wont be able to cope with the increased load, and that there was no consultation with them about the effect on the community. The real reason is more likely money... cost to keep it going and cost to renovate the buildings, which apparently they are badly in need of.

Yikes! Well if that is what they call education then I am glad they are being shut down. They clearly weren't preparing those kids for the real world.
