My mother just got back from being a chaperone for a brainwashing Hill Cumorah Pagant youth conference. She has truly been spiritually uplifted. She was amazed at the testimonies the youth gave during their 2 hour testimony meeting. She also thought the anti guys across the street were funny because they shouted that mormons are sex addicts.

:duh Well, can you blame them, we are the only church that preaches eternal sex!!!!!!!!! For years I would lean over to my husband in sacrament and point out that people were using code words (like JS was so good at too) to tell the whole congregation about how excited they are to have eternal sex.

I also feel like telling her that I too always felt peachy after hearing the church's version of history.

And lastly - at least those anti guys aren't knocking on your door uninvited to convert you!

Anyway, she is real happy and I don't want to ruin that so I bottled all of this up and let it out here.

Probably not the most effective signs. I bet there was one calling JS a child molester as well?

What I would like to see is representatives of local tribes picketing the Hill Cummorah pagent for telling lies about their ancestors and making a mockery of their culture! See what the church thinks of that!

I would have thought there must be increasing tension around Cumorah as the limited geography model of Mormon world prevails. They can't have the Bom story happening down on the istmus somehwere, and the battles and plates up the other end of the country.

But don't let logic get in the way of 'feelin' the Spirit of the Lard!'
