I noticed the other day that the Fox Movie Channel has been broadcasting Porky's regularly every evening. What is more suprising is that they didn't cut out any of the nudity especially in the shower scene. I found it ironic that a channel that so closely aligns itself with Republicans, conservatives and the religious right (which had such a hissy fit over Janet Jacksons wardrobe malfunction) would repeatedly broadcast a show that has full frontal nudity of several young women as well the focus of the story being centered around a strip club and the revenge a group of teenagers exact on the strip club owner because he would not allow the underage boys from having sex with the strippers. You would think that a channel who is so closely aligned with the "family values" party would not broadcast such a sexually explicit show.

How does "full frontal nudity" = porn?

Your rant makes no sense. Porky's isn't porn, I'm sorry to tell you.

If Playboy contians porn to conservatives then Porky's contains porn. Also that sex scene in the gymnasium is pretty graphic for TV. Either way the nudity and content of that movie seems to be in conflict with the conservative religious right values Fox tends to champion. If a wardrobe malfunction was enough to fine CBS thousands of dollars, then airing an unedited Porkies on basic cable should be far worse. My problem is the hipocrisy of such a show being on Fox. Porky's is definitely not a show about traditional family values.

I'm not arguing with your point: that does seem incongruous programming. No more incongruous than both a bar and a BOM appearing in a Marriott hotel. Hey, the religious right is hypocritical. That's no news flash for any of us.

I'm just really curious about your definition of "porn." In fact, to call Porky's "porn" is pretty laughable to me and that makes me think you have never actually seen any real porn.

So to be explicitly clear, in my opinion, no "money shot" = not porn. If I don't see full-on both genders' genitalia = not porn. No penetration or oral sex scenes, with explicit detail so you can see the shaving stubble and every little freckle, zit, and mole = not porn. Porky's is no more "immoral" than American Pie or any number of other stupid teenage sex romps.

How is The Simpsons an example of Traditional Family Values? You won't find Fox to be very consistent on the moral compass thing.

I am using their definition not mine. Also it wouldn't be as good a title if I said Fox broadcasts show with full female nudity. As for the Simpsons, it could be argued that they support traditional values by portraying a dufus as the antithesis of traditional values and wisdom. We find it funny because it breaks social taboos thus proving the existence of them. Also the Simpsons is tame compared to South Park and even the Family Guy.

Stewie (to one of the prostitutes at Cleveland's house): So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

All of this reminds me of a favorite Bill Hicks skit, where he rants about porn and tv.

He explains the definition of porn to be, "Has no artistic merit and causes sexual thought."

Then he says something like, "sound like EVERY F'N COMMERCIAL on television! You know the DoubleMint Twins? Yah. They don't make me want to chew gum!"

:D
