I've finally completed enough of the upgrade of the Post-Mormon Chapters section of our website that is useful enough to switch on. So, now when you click on Our Community then on Post-Mormon Chapters you'll get a large world map that shows where our current chapters are located. Clicking on a map pin opens a little info bubble about the chapter and contains a link that will take you to their homepage. Use the buttons at the right of the map, and the zoom controls at the left of the map to move around. When you've zoomed way in it's fun to switch to satellite mode, by clicking on the Satellite button at the top right of the map. I found the Eiffel tower in France, switched to satellite mode and was blown away at how large and clear the image was. I could even see the people who were walking on and around on the tower when the satellite shot was taken.
There's still more to do though, and I hope to add more functionality to it this weekend. The chapters section has by far taken the most time to upgrade because there's quite a bit of custom programming that I had to wrap my meager head around in order to get the Google Maps to work with the other software on our site and in setting up each chapter's webpage so the chapter manger can edit it without me getting in the way.
If you are a manager of a chapter and are logged into this website, once you find your way to your chapter's webpage you should see a tab near the top of the page that says "Manage Chapter" in red text. Clicking on that will take you to your edit page and allow you to customize the welcome statement that is now on your webpage. Currently, Seattle, San Diego and Cache Valley have some content, beyond just the basic contact information, on their chapter's webpage. You might want to use them as examples of what to put on yours.
I hope that navigation of the map is somewhat self explanatory. This weekend I'll try to add some instructions on using the map that can be linked to from the map.
If anyone has any questions or suggestions please let me know!
Jeff
