I joined the church because I wanted to make my hubby and his family happy and I didn't think it would do any harm but I was wrong. After a couple of weeks I felt depressed and I didn't want to be a member anymore but I kept it to myself and we were also sealed in the temple. After a while I got to the point where I told him that I was sick of it and that I didn't believe in it. So I stopped going. I also told him that our son would not have anything to do with it either. Our marriage almost ended because of it. But we got through it and we have been together for almost 11 yrs. My husband now knows that it is all bullshit and he is no longer a member. He hasn't believed in it for a few months now and we just sent a letter to the member records in Utah to have all of our names removed from the records, so it will be like we were never apart of it. We are both now agnostic but sometimes I think I'm heading more towards being atheist. My husband is now writing a book on his experience in the church because he was raised in it and went on a mission and the stuff that goes on in the temples and all that other crap. He hopes to have it published. The church is not true and anyone wants to read about all the crap that's in the bible just go to http://www.xmission.com/~jburton/dnld.htm.
After we read just some of it we were amazed at how all of it is bullshit and very unbelieveable. See for yourself.

I'm so glad that you stuck up for yourself rather than be doomed to a marriage filled with depression and submissiveness! I'm not married, but here at Mormon school, I'm very pressured to become so. I believed in the church as a brainwashed little girl, but figured it all out using my brains by the time I was 15. I am a closet apostate, but one day want to have my name removed. Once I do, I am going to post my full name here for the whole world to see! I am athiest, after going through a short agnostic "transition period." I think once you realize Mormonism is a farce, it's much easier to see how all religions are just products of society, and our insecurities with life. I applaud you, and I take much strength from people like you as I struggle through my false Mormon facade. :)

I'm glad you finally saw through the crap. I wish you well. Take a look at the website I out on there and tell me what you think?

What a bummer. I went to the site and every single file is posted as an executable, which means that nobody with a Mac can get into the files. If the fools who ran that site would post PDFs instead... or just about any other file format... I'd be able to participate in this discussion.
