If evolution could give you a faith in the after life , it would be the most beautiful philosophy ever born on this planet , unfortunately it can,t do that but it can give us many other incredible insights into what life is , and how it has come to be
this for me is like being born into a new world , a world of realization which was not available when my mind was bound to believing in the biblical account of creation .

Fact is , life has been on this planet for a long long time , evolving , changing , destroying itself and then starting all over again , in that time it has produced some strange and powerful phenonema , a snake can bite an elephant , in a few minutes the elephant keels over and dies , how a dumb reptile can produce poisons that powerful is worth thinking about for sometime .
rather than there being one creator who created everything for the benifit of man ,( well might the lion think that a lion god created all the zebras just for him to eat when he gets hungry ) or that the god view is always going to be held by the most volatile predator (man ) yes it fits very well with human arrogance , to believe that it was all made just for are sakes , not only the world we live in , but the universe as well .so a few humans getting bored and blowing away the creatures for a bit of fun is no sin , as its all just made for are disposal anyway , but from my perspective here in lies the real sin against creation .
as it happens theres things in the earth that can really help us a lot , plants fruits herbs and vegetables have been evolving for millions of years , many of them have things in them which can cure the most difficult of diseases , others have power to relive stress , some can even be used to comfort the terminally ill , this is an amazing thing ,
if you really want to exsperience the power creation found in plants and herbs ect , try this , stick all the greenies in the juicer , try new combinations day after day until you find elements that cause your blood to flow freely thru your viens , makes your face warm and a pleasing sensation to spread across your mind , it may be that the most difficult situations become tolerable when you have thatinner peace instilled in your mind ,
love the earth , respect what it gives you , be kind to whatever you find , understand its creation , in doing so you may free yourself from whatsoever besets you .
i don,t want to rule over the earth , i want to be part of it , i swim in the lake of perfect greens and colors , i am givin to see , and understand it , thats my purpose , to rise and fall with its waves , to ride its winds and watch with awe as thunders roll in from the sea , when my eyes close and i see no more , i take joy in the fact that i have been part of you , beautiful earth , how could i ever forget you , having risen from your bowels , how could you ever forget me , i respect you mother creator , on your breasts i hang , waiting for your most succulent milk to feed me , all things have purpose in your most magnificent being , i am part of you , and in me you find no fault

Thank you, Puff. I'm really glad this is the first thing I read this morning:
i don,t want to rule over the earth , i want to be part of it , i swim in the lake of perfect greens and colors , i am givin to see , and understand it , thats my purpose , to rise and fall with its waves , to ride its winds and watch with awe as thunders roll in from the sea , when my eyes close and i see no more , i take joy in the fact that i have been part of you , beautiful earth , how could i ever forget you , having risen from your bowels , how could you ever forget me , i respect you mother creator , on your breasts i hang , waiting for your most succulent milk to feed me , all things have purpose in your most magnificent being , i am part of you , and in me you find no fault

Puff,

I agree with Dogzilla, that I'm glad I read this first thing this morning. I feel exactly the same way, especially about the part dogzilla highlighted.

On a humorous side note: My parents just got back from nearly a month in Africa (I am deathly jealous, and it's not very becoming...). We went over last night to hear all about it and to see their pictures.

Among the things they saw was a stagnant pool of water (a chunk of river that was isolated during the dry season) that was a hippo hangout. Given the fact that hippos poop in their water (a lot, it turns out), and that this water has no way to clean itself until the next wet season, at the time my parents were there, it was like a cesspool, and the hippos happily continued to poop and wallow in it.

My dad, Ph.D. scientist that he is, stood on the embankment overlooking the scene and was heard to say, "This is proof of evolution. An all-knowing God would never create a creature that would live in it's own poop." :p

I thought it was funny, anyway.

Sorry, now returning you to Puff's introspective thread...

Aren't hippos one of the more dangerous animals in Africa? I seem to recall hearing that they are more dangerous than crocodiles and other ferocious beasts because they are very teritorial and like to knock over boats and bite the humans. It would be interesting to study the hippo imune system that allows them to soak in their own filth. But then pigs enjoy a good wallow as well. I wonder if it is for the same reason that they have no sweat glands and need to keep their body temperature down? I also seem to recall seeing a show where the hippo was marking its territory by deficating profusely while flicking its tail rapidly back and forth to achieve maximum coverage of the area.

Although you're punctuation and sometimes spelling are rough around the edges, I think you put us all to shame with some of the insightful, beautiful things you post. Thanks!

thanx everyone for those nice comments , i was thinking today about what i wrote and wondering if i had gone over the edge a bit (like i usually do ) despite being an illiterate ignoramus who can,t spell for toffees , i love writing and sometimes just let my emotions flow out without thinking to much about it ,it can be surprising what comes out , that was funny about the hippos , theres lots of other animals like that to , what about sloths ,my inspiration for the green lake came from lake rotoiti near rotorua , we used to holiday there when the kids where young , its a lake created by volcanic action and is dark green with steep cliffs on some sides , it has mirror like reflection of dense green vegetation around it , we used to canoe out and sit quiietly on the lake listening to eirie bird calls , you could hear a pin drop except for the sounds of nature , its also a kind of sacred maori place so it has lots of mana

And as i slip beneath your icey depths , clutching within my hands a last few shreds of your dark black hair ,slowly sinking deeper and deeper the sunlight sparkles above me and grows steadily fainter , and with its fading glimmers , go the last few memorys of life , laughter and every warm caress , and i wonder as i sink deeper into the doom of endless nothing , why o lord why, why so much love in the midst of such terrible pain , love has made life far to cruel
