I watched a documentry last night on cable here on Lundgren and his mini-cult. It sounded like it was produced about 2000.
It got me to wondering if anyone has ever gone to the trouble of trying to gather the data to check out the ratio of nutters/dangerous cultists/seige holders whose ideological pedigree can be traced to Mormonism as a percentage of the member population.
Is it just my sensitivity, or do others suspect Mormonism might rate fairly highly on this 'performance indicator'?

Hard to know, Daryl, as it seems so many are rather secretive. The first one that comes to mind for me (besides Warren Jeff's followers) is Brian David Mitchell, who is the fellow who kidnaped Elizabeth Smart. Then there was the guy probably 20+ years ago who claimed he was a prophet, and after he committed suicide, his wife threw her kids off a hotel balcony. If I remember correctly, one child survived. You wonder how many "prophets" are at the state mental health facility in Provo. Here is a Deseret News (unbiased, I'm sure ;) ) story related to offshoots involving plural marriage. http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,645199994,00.html
