Perhaps people in america have not heard much about the brethren church as most of its following seems to be in australia , nz and britain ,
there church started in the 19 century , (seems to be a cliche period for religions )and its main teaching is seperation from the world and evil .

the latest documentry on the brethren is shocking to the point of being a bit frightening , ( But hey , how come no news on the mormons )

some stories from this doc , a teenage girl decides to leave the church , 3 weeks later she visits her mother and finds her in a terrible condition , she has not eaten or drank fluid for three weeks , thinking that her fasting to god will somehow bring her daughter back .she is excomunicated and never see,s her mother again , except to speak to her once from behind a door .
a brother is exed for criticising leaders , he is ordered to move away from his family and never see,s them again , he recieves letters from his children telling him he is no longer worthy to be their father and they want nothing more to do with him , he keeps their letters because even tho they are filled with hate , he can still look at their handwriting and remember them .

a family leaves the church , a former member rings them and tells thems that unless they return one of their children will die , they ignore these threats , four years later however their son mysteriously dies in his sleep , he is 19 years old .

perhaps the most frightening aspect off all this is how evil religion and christian religion at that can become . this doc also featured that there had been several suicides of members within the church grounds usually by hanging , almost like a type of blood atonement .

i watched this with my wife (tbm sort of ) and we were both shocked at the severity of suffering , quite obviously they still had difficulty recanting there stories ( because you see theres always this part of you which was once converted and thats still there ) this applies to most people who have left a once cherished faith .
amazingly some members who were exed walked out of their homes ,leaving loved family members because intially at least they felt their punishment was deserved ,infact before i joined the mormons i worked for one of them , his name was Graham , he gave me a job as a painter even tho i was in exsperienced and he could have given this job to untold others , he gave this job to me , for whatever reason ,
for the next few months i got to know him quite well and found him to be living alone in a run down flat , when i asked him why he was living away from his family , he replied i would love to go back to my family but i can,t because i have sinned , he never said what his sin was but knowing him as i did i could think of him as being worthy of any great crime , on odd occasions he would turn up for work with a peacful demure , as if he had been forgiven of some great sin , on most days he would look vexed as if tormented by some great demon from whom he could not escape , i had know idea that i would soon be descending into my own religious guilt nightmare but thats another story , on going to bed my wife was obviously a bit distraught at what she had just seen , i dare not suggest that religion can have a very evil dark side ,but before i said anything she said , its a good job are religion is not as bad as that one .
well is that the truth , some would say not , at least there not round here ordering me out of my wedding bed , but of course , as we know , mormons have all kinds of suttle ways of producing the same effect , 8 out of 10 mormon marriages end in divorce when one member of a temple marriage goes a wall , thats a pretty conclusive statistic .
all in all i used to think that jesus was a loving god and whosever believed in him could be guilty of no great crime and tho not in agreement on all point of doctrine as far as churches go had at heart the basic welfare of the human race , this belief is fast fading to the point where i feel an evil presence in at least some christian religions which makes me quiver with fear , this kind of stuff seems a long way away from the humble carpenter who freely forgave the penitent sinner , and i have to wonder , who or what are these people worshipping , mind control , brainwashing , cultic darkness , supression of information and most of all the wiful destruction of the human family , could anybody really say that the author of all this was jesus of nazereth , mind you nazereth was probably a pretty violent place 2000 years ago .
didn,t jesus say he had come to save the world and not judge it

I had never heard of this group. How awful. Thanks for sharing. It is difficult when you look at the teachings of Jesus (or most other spiritual leaders) and compare that to the organizations that claim to follow him. They can be worlds apart. I tend to think the biggest problem with organized religion is people.

I tend to think the biggest problem with organized religion is people.quite a well known group of people in this part of the world , beware , they make mormons look like daffy duck and co . they also build churches with no windows in , just solid brick and a door , how they get round the building codes i do not know , you would think all buildings would have to have windows for fire compliance ect , maybe they have lots of friends in high places
