This is strictly hearsay, but from some well placed sources in Utah State Higher Education. The hearsay is as follows: PBS’s ‘Frontline’ and ‘American Experience’ are currently joining forces to produce an “EXTENSIVE” documentary of non apologetic Mormon history. It was stated, so much research has gone into the production, that the program has become four hours long. It is supposedly scheduled for May of this next year and will be presented over two days in two hour blocks.

Like I say this is hearsay, if it is valid, it should be a great program to share with TBM family. If anyone else has heard anything please share.

I am betting the critics will lob softball questions against the church and will probably be other Christians. I want to see Simon Southerton on there. I am betting that this is still going to be 95% positive about the church. It is not going to get into the DNA issues or polygamy or the evidence that the BoM was plagarized.

You'd think that in four hours, they'd have to reveal SOMEthing not approved by LDSINC. :duck:

Mamajama,

Yes this looks like the program thanks for sharing the link. I’ve been in contact with someone who I found is in the know and doing a bit of interfacing with PBS. This person advises me the program will be a historical and contemporary objective portrayal of Mormon history. I’m a bit skeptical like helemon, I mentioned to this individual I hoped the program would cover controversies such as polyandry and the current DNA problems for the BofM.

I guess we will get an idea how good the program will be if it is not advertised in church.
