We just received our confirmation letters that we are no longer slaves of the COJCOLDS. :D

We are so happy Let me tell you a little about how I got to this point in my life.

I was born and raised in the church in Utah. My father left when I was about 5 and didn’t have much to do with us growing up. I was pretty active most of my life. I had a couple of years in High School where I was more into partying and having fun. I cleaned up my act and became active again and went on to serve a mission in the same area my family now lives. We actually live in the ward boundaries where I served for 6 months. I have been married for 13 years and have 5 children with ages ranging from 12 years old down to 1 year old. Our leaving the church began last year. We had kind of stopped going to our ward because of many problems my sister-in-law started with my wife. We had been helping her. We gave her a place to stay for a while and then let her rent our other house. We gave her $100 a month off the lease to help and gave her furniture, lawn mower, and many other things. The rent was barely making the house payment. After a while she started accusing my wife of only helping her out to get a power trip. Then one day she called my wife and was threatening her. Then she started telling totally untrue stories to people at church. My wife started being treated different by some people. Others knew better and didn’t believe what was being said. We just couldn’t go and see these people at church treating us different and judging us with out knowing the truth. It was during this time that we started studying church history and other thing about the church. The more we studied the more we knew that the church wasn’t true. Once we knew the truth we knew we had to get out and get our kids out before they get too brainwashed.

momonomo,

Fantaza-nomo-gorical!

Sorry I can't make it to any party, but great you could effect that move before the impact on your kids got substantial.

It is amazing how much happier my family has been. Years of stress trying to live and do everything asked of us all gone now. It is a bit odd living in the same area I served and baptized people on my mission. How do I undo that?

I think that there is a simple answer: you don't. People will find their own life answers for themselves. For many people, the church will give comfort and security and for others, the church life will bring inner turmoil. Each will find their own path to development...just let it be for now. Strange, but now when I see the missionaries I think: will they remain faithful to the cause or will they fall away? It is impossibe to know the answer...I can just try to wish everyone peace , joy and love in this life, regardless how they to choose to live (without hurting someone) and believe... :)
