I thought this was amusing considering recent threads about mental boxes and the tendancy of some people to give up on trying to make a difference in the world since the end it near.

I think that this says it all. We are, at times, sitting in our boxes waiting for the end to arrive. I can see this in the LDS community, at least where I am. I wish they were more active in confronting the turmoils in society and in the world at large.
How to make people in general put down the beer can and become active in the community is no easy job. IMO, we are becoming drugged by reality TV, sicko movies, alcohol and an attitude of "eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die" belief system. I have my own solutions to the problems that I see in m,y own community. I think what is imortant is that people begin to reflect on the collective life direction and its impact on individual lives. How to find a secure boat in an insecure sea...?

I find that there are many happy and fulfilled people in the world. I have a positive outlook.
We will do many great things in our lives. We will see miracles in science. We will break down barriers of ignorance and intolerance. Hopefully we will bury racism.
The 21st century will have it's challenges, but it is going to be great. I am very happy to be alive!!
Oh, and by the way. I would say " Eat, Drink, and Be Merry for tommorrow we live"

Hey, hey, since we're on the "end of the world" topic...Would any of you mind just clarifying for me the whole concept of "Mormon Storage?" I have done my research on this topic, however, what I have found is that there is no better place to get the truth than these boards! ;) I would like to know what it is the church is telling these people to get them to conform and the importance behind it. The other info I have gone over is bizarre!!! THANKS!

Okay, I think it's great that you guys could philosophize about the meaning of Helemon's cartoon...but I can I just say, "That was funnier than hell!?" I mean, sitting in a box with a beer hat? I'm gonna lose it right here in my office, and all the people around me are going to assume I've finally gone completely insane! This is the funniest thing I've seen in weeks!
A beer hat...ROFLMAO!!! :D

Glad you liked it! Pearls before swine is one of my favorite cartoons. I think it is even better than Dilbert.
