Helemon I am over at FAIR reading your posts and the responses to them with great interest...

The curse of Cain/Ham is a fantastic thread, and the replies indicate (so far) just how uncomfortable a doctrine it is for many active members who seek to justify it with culture and the imperfectness of the prophets. It is a really interesting discussion and gets to the heart of some of my issues with the church.

I also caught up with the one on chromosome differences which went to the 2nd page pretty quick so I missed it. I didn't see any satisfactory answers that really dealt with the issue. Thanks again.

Isn't Ave Maria great!!!! I just love her!!!

It is a shame that we all can't live together in peace and tranquility. All of these problems will be decided when we die but not before that brief moment when we pass from death to life or just to death will we know the answers to all of the questions being hit back and forth life a ping pong ball. But I am sure that it is interesting but what will be solved? We are all dealing with faith and theory...with nothing conclusive...but it is exciting to read... :) It is like a cock fight without the roosters...gratefully, because I love animals.

Why me!!!! The two threads I referred to, I liked especially because everyone was dealing quite respectfully with the issues I thought.

I KNOW a lot of back biting goes on over at FAIR, and a lot of sarcasm and taunts, but just sometimes, some really fantastic discussions get started, that are really enlightening. :D

Hey Why me, it's actually been really sunny over here for the past couple of days, great because it is a bank holiday weekend!!!

Take care

I am glad you like them. Yes I thought it was predictable that some of the responders would fall back on the 'but all the other churches thought the same thing' excuse. I can forgive them. They don't claim to have a prophet receiving revelation from God.

And yes the chromosome issues are interesting since it is impossible to know what sex the persons spirit is when they are XY females or intersexed individuals. Isn't it interesting that some said with the intersexed person that the person knows what sex they are. This was the advice a SP counselor and psychologist told me he would do, let them grow up hit puberty and let them decide. But then why not allow homosexuals the same option?

Of course you are right. I suppose I was referring to the general idea of batting the scriptures back and forth until the color blue begins to settle in the face. It can be like that at times with the posters there. I am all for dialoque but like I said before it would be lovely (British expression) if the members would be so interesting in church meetings. But I suppose there is a time and a place for all things..right?
Hey Miss Taken I have a question for you. I have been watching a British series called 'Heartbeat'. I believe that it was made in the 90's. I think that it is a terrific series about a 1960's copper and his doctor wife who move to a small village from London. The setting is Britain in the 1960's. Gosh...life in the 6o's must of been great...bobbies answering the police phone from their home phone, no guns...just small petty crimes and a simple life :) What happened to Britain? I want the village bobby back! I don't want to take away from this tread but you can fill me in by writng a footnote on this thread. Is Heartbeat still running in Britain?

Umm...Britain and sunshine must be a real rarity...but I hear that you had a really warm day....plus 33c Can it be true?...don't forget to water the flowers....

Hi Why me!
Apparantly we are in for a scorcher of a summer. I climate is changing over here. (though it probably still rains all the time in the Lake District!!) The winters are becoming much milder (not so many frosts) and the summers are warmer, but also can be wet!!! The forecasters say we are in for a hot summer, over 100 degrees which is pretty unusual... I havn't forgotten to water the flowers and hanging baskets..!!!

We still get Heartbeat over here, but the bobby changed, as the original actor wanted out, and so they wrote into his story line that he was off to Canada? I think??? Another really gentle series that is worth watching is Monarch of the Glen. Lovely story lines. My husband likes them both a lot.

Have a great day!
Mary

About the FAIR boards, I thought the thread about why people leave the church was very good also, and shows the varying reasons, and also the very pre-conceived notions of some members. A couple of members suggest that they have never ever seen anyone become happier once they left the church... Interesting....

I am glad to hear that heartbeat is still in business. Hopefully the woman actor is still on. I have seen the monarch series. New episodes will start soon in my area but the times that it will be on is rather not to my liking. But I hope to catch some scenes.
The fair boards are good boards. I think that such boards allow people to be intellectual and challenging. And this is important for human development and personal development for certain members of the church. In cyberspace no one really knows the others identity...there is freedom for self-expression and putting acrosss ideas that can not put across on sundays without ruining the 'spirit' of the meeting. But there are so many posters there that I think Dogzilla was right...you can get lost in the crowd if the crowd does not accept you into the fold. Hopefully helemon is fitting right in. He is knowledgeable about scriptures and good with the insights. Have fun in Britain...I need to get a booby hat and wear it when I am watching 'heartbeat'. ;)

Helemon, don't get a big head because I gave you a compliment... :p
