My TBM neighbor flagged me down as I walked across the street. She asked if my daughter (who is 17) was at YW girl's camp. (I knew she already knew the answer to this - I knew she just wanted to "fish" for info - she rarely talks to me)
"HEEEEEEEELL no. She didn't want to go and I didn't want her to go" I replied.
"Oh, because of the scout tragedies lately? You afraid to send her out in nature?" was her response.
"No. She knows how to protect herself against nature. It's all the brainwashing that goes on that worries me." (okay - so I couldn't resist)
"Oh??? BRAINwashing???? " She looked half puzzled and then half shocked that I would say such a thing.
"You have a good night, Sister X, K?"
Can I use the excuse that she asked for it? :D Like I said she rarely speaks to me at all.
It's starting to feel good to say what I am really thinking / feeling and not worrying about pampering everyone else's feelings.
