I found this on www.realmormonhistory.com

Does that sum up Mormonism or what?

"I will now say, not only to our delegate to Congress, but to the Elders who leave the body of the Church, that he thought that all the cats and kittens were let out of the bag when brother Pratt went back last fall, and published the Revelation concerning the plurality of wives: it was thought there was no other cat to let out. But allow me to tell you, Elders of Israel, and delegates to Congress, you may expect an eternity of cats that have not yet escaped from the bag".

Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake City Tabernacle,
June 19, 1853 Journal of Discourses Vol. 1, p. 188

Oh yeah, that was choice! I can't help but marvel at Brigham's prophetic words... ;)

That's a great one! It reminds me of the Hans Christian Andersen tale The Emperor's New Clothes.
Here's a link to it for those unfamiliar with the story:

In my opinion this is actually one of the best explanations for what keeps people in Mormonism and many other deceptions.

Ironically, Anderson was born in 1805, the same year as a certain "glass-looker" we are all too familiar with. Go figure?

I have ALWAYS thought someone should jump up during a temple session and shout, "The Emperor has no clothes!" The metaphor is SO appropriate!
