Never in my life have I been as happy as I am now. I have said this ad nauseum to my girlfriend. I sometimes have to curtail this expression to her, as I am sure it is hard for her to understand my semi-euphoria. I tell you this. Never in all my years as an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, did I feel joy so complete, and have such a feeling of being grounded in reality.
So what , you ask, is the source of my joy? It is simple! I am no longer tethered to a religion that is simply IMPOSSIBLE to live! It just cannot be done without generous helpings of guilt, and shame! Now I really know the TRUE HISTORY of this church, and it is not pretty! All those years laboring, and grinding, to become perfect, only to realize that what I had been taught about Joseph Smith was a sanitized version of his life. There is such a stark contrast between the authorized version of church history, and what the average objective historian writes, that I can only conclude that someone is not telling the whole truth.
I gained much from the church!! I readily admit this. But to be truly beneficent, they must be able to say to those who have outgrown the organization, " We wish you the best, and are grateful for all you have done. Good luck to you in your search for truth and happiness". Fat chance eh? So I move on!!
Just wanted to say these things!!
Thanks for listening!!
