Today someone posted this comment attached to Simon Southerton's article in the Post-Mormon Magazine. I couldn't help responding to it.
Jeff
Unfortunatly you all have only read one side of the story.
There is no conclusive evidence to say that the American Indians come from the Asians. In fact there is no conclusive evidence from DNA testing that the American Indians come from the Jewish nation either.
In fact the American Indian DNA has a large mixture of Asian, European and Semetic DNA so no one can give any definate answer to solve this mystery!
This article proves nothing. It is based on one sided information and is only pleasing to the minds of those who wish to expose the so-called mormon cover up!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has much information regarding this subject and much more information on any other subject. The church makes no effort to cove up anything infact the church would want people to find the truth themselves.
If you wish to find out information about the church’s Brigham Young University DNA studies you can find it at:
http://www.farmresearch.com
or any other church rlated site!

I love the line, "The church makes no effort to cover up anything infact the church would want people to find the truth themselves."
yeah right Then why did Grant Palmer get called to a court of luvvvvvv?
What about Thomas Murphy? The church could never disprove him. They didn't ex him. They couldn't prove he was wrong.
I'll go read your reply now.

Hoffman!
(I discovered the 'system' won't let me use that one word as it is less than 10 characters long, so I had to add some. Now that I have had to get verbose, I would remark - another Mormon rocket scientist I note.)

I still use that word even though it is out of date. Guess I'm showing my age!! Anyway, that is the word that came to mind as I read Stevens reply to the DNA article. I know I used to be like that. I wanted so much for the church to be true, that I just would not listen to anything that was in disagreement with that. After all, I had felt the spirit. I was a TBM. When TBM folk like me really find out the truth, it is a world shaker. I am sure he felt his back against the wall as he read the article.
Oh well! Bummer!!

I thought you posted an excellent reply to Steven. It's one that I think is a good example for all of us in this community. Thanks for caring enough about Steven to write something that might one day benefit him. I have to admit, mine was written just to piss him off. :(

I really meant it, but I think he needed your message also. I think your , " take no prisoners" replies are necessary in this forum. It sends a clear message to all TBM who think we are trifleing, that we mean business when it gets down to it. I hope you will continue to be demonstartive when it is needed. There are those, like me, who need to see that! It shows you level of conviction.
When I posted my untestimony, Iwanted it to be crystal clear to anyone who read it, that I was not vascilating in my post. I too get quite angry when I see the subterfuge, and obfuscation that church leaders employ to avoid the hard questions. The stakes here are big, as they are in all worthwhile endeavors.
Jeff you are a modern day William Law. I am no sycophant! I do not kiss butt, nor curry favor. I dont need to. I have a great life. I want you to know though, that I think what you are doing here is much needed!!
Rock On!!
